Harwood in control at top

HOWZAT?: Harwood’s Luke Harradine and Tim McMahon appeal for a caught behind in the CRCA Premier League match against Westlawn at Ellem Oval.
HOWZAT?: Harwood’s Luke Harradine and Tim McMahon appeal for a caught behind in the CRCA Premier League match against Westlawn at Ellem Oval.

HARWOOD has one hand on the minor premiership after thrashing Westlawn by an innings and 71 runs at Ellem Oval on Saturday.

After resuming at 7 for 47, the situation did not improve for Westlawn, all out for 81 and then 92.

It means anything short of a Brothers outright over South Services and a Harwood loss to Tucabia-Copmanhurst will result in the defending premiers hosting the major semi-final at Harwood Oval on March 7-8.

It sets up an intriguing final round. Brothers have one last chance at finishing top when they play South Services at McKittrick Park and will be willing Tucabia-Copmanhurst to win the grand final replay at Ulmarra Showground. Meanwhile, Westlawn and Coutts Crossing will be playing to keep their respective seasons alive at Ellem Oval.
