Harwood in control at top

HARWOOD has one hand on the minor premiership after thrashing Westlawn by an innings and 71 runs at Ellem Oval on Saturday.

After resuming at 7 for 47, the situation did not improve for Westlawn, all out for 81 and then 92.

It means anything short of a Brothers outright over South Services and a Harwood loss to Tucabia-Copmanhurst will result in the defending premiers hosting the major semi-final at Harwood Oval on March 7-8.

It sets up an intriguing final round. Brothers have one last chance at finishing top when they play South Services at McKittrick Park and will be willing Tucabia-Copmanhurst to win the grand final replay at Ulmarra Showground. Meanwhile, Westlawn and Coutts Crossing will be playing to keep their respective seasons alive at Ellem Oval.
