Have your say on Clarence Valley public holidays

CLARENCE Valley residents are invited to comment on proposed public holidays for the region for the next two years.

Clarence Valley Council general manager Scott Greensill said the council was required to seek public comment before applying to the NSW Industrial Relations for 2016 and 2017 local public holidays or event days.

Event organisers have nominated the following local public holidays:


 Maclean Show: Wednesday, April 13, noon-5pm

 Ramornie Races: Wednesday, July 13, 1-5pm

 Grafton Cup: Thursday, July 14, 1-5pm

 Jacaranda Thursday: Thursday, November 3, 1-5pm


 Maclean Show: not yet allocated

 Ramornie Races: Wednesday, July 12, 1-5pm

 Grafton Cup: Thursday, July 13, 1-5pm

 Jacaranda Thursday: Thursday, November 2, 1-5pm

Comment can be emailed to council@clarence.nsw.gov.au or dropped into council offices in Grafton or Maclean. Submissions close at 3pm on September 29. For more information, contact Clarence Valley Council on 6643 0200.
