Have your say on keeping Yamba beautiful
BEAUTIFYING Yamba has run for 12 months, but Yamba residents will now be able to have a say on how they want their town is upgraded with the Yamba Monthly Working Bee initiative.
Clarence Valley Councillor and Yamba Chamber of Commerce vice president Sue Hughes said in 12 months Yamba received painted benches, edible gardens, mosaics and a mural decorating the toilet blocks.
However, she said every month from September 14, Yamba residents would have the chance to walk around the town and spot which area they thought needed immediate attention.
"We are proud of the culture that exists in our town with charming cafes and restaurants," Cr Hughes said.
"Our vision for the future would be for all in our community to continue to support all our local businesses, which in turn, provide jobs, careers and business owners with money to re-invest into our town and our economy.
"Yamba has a unique shopping experience, pristine beaches and river system."
She said she hoped for plenty of sporting and recreational activities for all ages and wanted Yamba to be a community like no other which would always give and volunteer to help others.
