Heavy rain and power outages across Valley
UPDATE: 6.30AM: Power has been restored to the Maclean CBD, with most major centres having power restored overnight. There are some isolated power outages in Nymboida and Kangaroo Creek still.
UPDATE: 8PM: Crews are working to gradually restore power throughout the valley, with the number of customers affected slowly dropping.
UPDATE: 7.12PM: According to the Essential Energy website, power has been restored to the South Grafton area, however some parts of Nymboida are showing as having no power, and reports coming from Maclean that the power may be out for several hours.
STORMS rolling through the Clarence Valley are causing havoc with the power system, with Essential Energy reporting outages in many of the major centres.
South Grafton is experiencing an outage along Armidale Road stretching down the Pacific Highway towards Bom Bom, with crews investigating the outageaffecting 562 residents.
39 customers are also without power in the Kangaroo Creek region.
The Maclean CBD is also without power, with reports of 782 customers affected, closing many restaurants and shops early.
The storm, which started at approximately 4pm has dumped heavy falls on some areas of the Valley, with the Grafton Airport gauge currently reading 60.2mm of rain in the past two hours.
