Op shop flies to milestone

SINCE opening in January 2009, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter op shop in South Grafton has flown to unbelievable heights.

This week, the op shop reached a major milestone, raising $150,000 for the rescue helicopter service.

Life Saver Rescue Helicopter chairman Warren Tozer visited the op shop on Wednesday and described the amount raised as an “enormous feat”.

“The service is so grateful to the people of Grafton for their support in making this happen and we rely on the community to keep our helicopters in the air,” he said.

“Our thanks go to everyone who has made donations and purchases from the op shop.”

Mr Tozer also praised the dedicated volunteers who have supported the op shop since its inception.

The op shop is open 9am-4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-noon on Saturdays.
