Here's the news: 'I'm having a baby right now'

A BBC presenter went into labour minutes after reading the news on live TV - and gave birth to a baby boy with a fellow newsreader by her side.

Victoria Fritz, who reads the business news on BBC Breakfast, had been discussing easyJet's latest figures on Tuesday morning's show.

But she had more important news to deliver and found her waters breaking shortly after leaving the studio in Salford, Manchester, three weeks before her due date, the Daily Mail reports.

When fellow presenter Sally Nugent discovered Victoria's husband, Dan, was stuck on the motorway, she said she would stay with her at the hospital until he arrived.

But because of heavy traffic on the M6, Victoria's husband did not get there on time, and Nugent ended up being birthing partner for the arrival of a baby boy.

After welcoming the baby boy at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, Victoria tweeted her thanks, describing it as a 'BBC Breakfast team effort'.

Sally also took to social media to say: 'You won't believe what happened after work yesterday. Huge congrats to our very clever @VFritzNews'

She added: 'It's going to make a brilliant story for his 21st birthday! What an incredible day xx'

The baby had been due to arrive in early December.
