Orchid showcase coming up

EVERY day for about five hours Terry Bird tends his orchids at his Lawrence home, as he has done for the past 30 years.

His hobby began after a trip to Papua New Guinea in 1980 when he saw the beautiful flowers growing in the trees.

"Once you start growing and collecting orchids it's not something you want to stop," Terry said.

You will be able to see Terry's prize-winning jubilation geronimo at the Maclean and District Orchid show which will be held on September 30 and October 1.
