Highway re-opened after multi-vehicle accident

UPDATE 8.30pm: The Pacific Highway has been reopened in both directions at South Grafton after an earlier multiple vehicle accident.

All lanes had been closed at Four Mile Lane while emergency services and traffic crews attended the site.

While all lanes are open, motorists should continue to allow extra travel time until traffic returns to normal through the area.

A CRASH involving cars and a truck has closed the Pacific Highway south of Grafton near Four Mile Lane.

Reports say up to three cars have been involved in the accident and at least two people have been taken to hospital.

A source at the scene said one of the injured has suspected spinal injuries.

The accident happened about 6pm in slippery conditions with light drizzle falling.

Traffic has been held up in both directions.
