Hit the decks with DJ Lachie Brown
DJ LACHIE Brown only hit the decks for the first time in March and already the 19-year-old is a regular at the Jacaranda Hotel and private functions.
"A good mate of mine Darcy Scott bought some decks and we just mucked around on them not thinking much of it, then we got offered to play at a party and went from there," Lachie said.
"Darcy does a lot of photography so it sort of ended up that I would DJ and he would take heaps of shots at parties."
Lachie said DJ-ing was a way to express himself.
"I'd always be around at parties listening to the DJs and having a good time. I stuck around local DJs like Rhy Comerford and Billy Nelson and admired the way they played," he said.
Friday's gig at the Jacaranda Hotel extends Lachie's run at the venue.
"I've been playing at the Jaca for about two months now, either for the pub or for private functions," he said.
"The vibes are great. Craig and his wife and the crew really bring such a happy and exciting vibe to the pub."
Lachie said those who attend his shows can expect to be on their feet dancing.
"It's definitely all about the vibes and crowd. With a younger crowd I'll always play the new tracks, with the heavy beats," he said.
"But if it's a quieter night with an older type crowd I'll throw in the old classics."
DJ Lachie Brown is playing tonight from 8pm to 1.30pm.
