Hot spot voting heats up

THE search for Toowoomba's number one tourism hot spot has reached fever pitch, with more than 1000 votes cast in The Chronicle's online poll.

The Chronicle, in conjunction with the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, asked readers to nominate which event, attraction or experience they rated as Toowoomba's ultimate tourist drawcard.

Picnic Point received the most nominations, followed by Highfields Pioneer Village, Toowoomba's Japanese Gardens and the Museum of Australian Army Flying at Oakey.

The Chronicle has provided a list of the 25 most nominated tourism hot spots.

People have until next Monday to vote for the attraction they rate as number one.

As of this morning, Easterfest holds a clear lead with 35 per cent of the vote, followed by Picnic Point (7%), Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers (6%) and the Empire Theatre (6%).
