Housing NSW to change in Clarence
HOUSING NSW has changed the way it will deliver services in the Clarence Valley from tomorrow.
Housing NSW has formed a partnership with North Coast Community Housing Company to deliver social housing services in Grafton.
North Coast Community Housing Company Ltd will be taking over the lease of the current Housing NSW office from tomorrow.
All applications for social housing will be handled by North Coast Community Housing. Rentstart by Phone services will continue to be accessible from the dedicated line in the same office or from any location with phone and fax facilities.
Housing NSW tenants can make contact with Housing NSW by phone to seek advice or make an appointment for a staff member to visit them at their home or the community cottage in South Grafton.
Households seeking advice and support to solve their housing needs will now have a one-stop shop for both public and community housing.
This is a change to the way services are delivered, not a reduction of services to the Grafton community.
Services to tenants will be improved by the use of more outposted locations, and private interviews conducted in the client’s residence.
This will save residents the difficulty of having to travel to the office in Grafton when personal interviews are needed.
This is particularly important to the frail, those with disabilities, or single families with limited income and family responsibilities.
Services to applicants will be provided jointly, with North Coast Community Housing Company increasing the range of housing options available.
There will be no reduction in staff.
Information sessions have been held for tenants and they have also been advised by mail of the changes.

Tenant interviews and appointments at the South Grafton Community Cottage between 9am and noon each Tuesday.
Tenants can phone 6644 3633 to make an appointment for an officer to visit them in their home.
Advice, interviews and appointments for applicants for housing can be made by contacting 6642 6244 or by visiting the office between 1pm and 4.30pm each week day.
