Hundt is over for top hats

WITH a swag of awards already under her hat, Grafton milliner Virginia Hundt's handiwork was on show on Tuesday night as part of the inaugural Hundt and Family Fine Millinery Parade.

The pieces on show were all one-off creations, modelled by dancers from South Grafton's Guja Murra dance group.

Opened in June 2012, Hundt and Family Fine Millinery has become a thriving speciality millinery business.

"Whilst economic depression has been felt right across Australia, Hundt and Family Fine Millinery continues to grow and flourish through the recognition of the local community," Ms Hundt said.

Her hats and head pieces have been worn at Melbourne Cup and the Kentucky Derby, and ordered for Royal Ascot.

"A week has not passed without additional pieces being created for local and interstate race meetings and weddings," she said.

Awards to date include Best Hat Lismore 2012, Most Creative Hat Grafton 2012, and Best Dressed Classical in Coffs Harbour 2012.
