Hwy speed limit change - Nambucca

SPEED limit changes will be introduced on the Pacific Highway at Nambucca south in coming days.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the road authority has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.

The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data, the RMS said in a statement.

Under the change the 60km/h speed limit on the Pacific Highway will be extended 350 metres south and end 600 metres south of Teagues Creek.

"This will make the 60km/h zone about two kilometres long "The changes will provide a more consistent approach to speed limits along the road and better reflect the road conditions.

"Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.

"Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
