Hyatt star of season BMX

THE FINAL Clarence Valley BMX Club weekend wrapped up with end-of-season presentations last week.

The presentations were held after Saturday's time trials, and the club was lucky to get them in just before the rain and win picked up.

Everyone had fun with some games to keep things light-hearted for the youngsters, with egg and spoon races, a spud sack race and some balloon games.

It was great to see everyone getting into it and doing fun stuff off the bikes.

The awards were given from first through to third in each age class, and though the seven and under sprockets contests are non-competitive the youngsters were still awarded participation trophies.

The big winner of this season was Ryan Hyatt.

The young speedster has won most of his races all season and therefore won in his class. He also took out club champion after he earned the most points across all

classes.

This was a great effort in a tough class of BMX where everyone is so close, especially considering there was only a few points separating the final standings.

First-placed flyer Emily Polsen has been riding in the pro woman around the country and doing well in those events.

James Brown was given the encouragement award for his outstanding efforts over the past six months.

Brown races all over the country with his family and always puts in his best effort. He made the first semi-final in his last big race at the NSW pre-state titles in Macarthur.

The new season has started after the school holidays and racing will be on the following Saturday.

If anybody wants to start, come to the track at South Grafton on Saturday afternoon, and we can organise a licence on the spot.
