Melissa Halliday is artist of the month at Iluka Emporium

PHOTOGRAPHER Melissa Halliday will be showcasing her photographic talents at the Iluka Emporium from June 25. Melissa just moved to "gorgeous Iluka" as she describes it, having spent most of her life in Mareeba and Cairns in Far North Queensland.

Since 2011, she has been a professional photographer and self-taught digital re-toucher. Her photography includes a wide variety of styles including weddings and engagements, boudoir, families, couples, singles, model portfolios, maternity, children and landscapes and seascapes.

"I discovered my passion for photography in 2011 and I have done multiple weddings and engagements but my true passion is portraiture work. I love portrait work as it allows me to capture not only the gorgeous person on the outside but I get to see into their eyes and bring them to life with a still image that they will cherish forever," she said.

Melissa is the 12th artist to be featured at the Iluka Emporium since its opening in November. The Iluka Emporium aims to exhibit a new artist every month, supporting local artists and art events.

Melissa Halliday's exhibition at Iluka Emporium, 61 Charles St, is open Thursday to Monday 10am-4pm.
