I'm A Celeb: ‘She’s walking around with no clothes on’
THE claws are starting to come out on I'm A Celeb, with fellow contestants Ash Pollard and Tegan Martin secretly sniping about Tziporah Malkah in last night's episode.
Malkah, who was known as Kate Fischer before embracing her Jewish faith, covered her head in a white cloth and moved to one corner of the camp to quietly pray, causing consternation among her campmates.
"What the hell is she doing?" whispered MKR contestant Pollard.
"She looks like she's on her phone … Oh, she's praying," said beauty queen Martin.
"Wouldn't you just step out of camp and do that, like [comedian and Muslim] Naz does?" asked Pollard.
With Malkah still out of earshot, the pair then debated the former model's carefree attitude towards clothing.
"She is the most confident human," said Martin.
"I don't think she is. I think it's just … something that she gives off," argued Pollard.
"She just walks around with no clothes on sometimes! I wouldn't walk around with no clothes on," said Martin.
"That doesn't mean you're confident … sometimes it's a bit rude. We don't want to see it, do we? It's a bit of decorum, I would say," said Pollard, who described Malkah in a to-camera interview as a "very unusual creature."
Host Julia Morris suggested later in the program that Martin and Pollard's discomfort was most likely down to an age gap - at 43, she argued, Malkah's earned the right to feel comfortable in her own skin.
Elsewhere in last night's program, Malkah opened up to her castmates about just how much of a lifelong battle that's been, revealing that she has struggled with eating disorders since the age of eight.
"I don't have a healthy relationship with food. Since I was eight, and I am 43. I have never eaten healthy within the 35 years. It has been a lifelong condition," she revealed.
Malkah said her "overeating" began when her parents separated, and it soon turned into a habit that was "difficult to kick".
"Then I started to not eat and then I got bulimia and all that kind of stuff. By the time I started modelling at 13 I had already had a chronic eating disorder for five years."
