MP fights for flood cash

CASH grants for victims of the recent floods in Coffs Harbour and the Clarence Valley were debated in Federal Parliament yesterday.

Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker questioned Prime Minister Kevin Rudd why North Coast residents affected by the floods earlier this year had not received the same cash grants that had been afforded to residents in North Queensland.

Mr Hartsuyker said further financial assistance was needed for residents in the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca and Clarence Valley local government areas.
