Man extradited on hold-up charges

POLICE have extradited a man from Queensland to NSW over an attempted armed hold-up two years ago at Coffs Harbour.

On February 3, 2008 police allege a man armed with a knife attempted to rob a supermarket in Park Beach Road, threatening the 64-year-old woman shop owner.

It’s alleged she struggled with the man, who fled empty-handed.

Following a lengthy investigation, Coffs Harbour detectives successfully sought the extradition of a 33-year-old of no fixed address.

He was taken to the Lismore Police Station and charged with assault with intent to rob while armed.

Detectives also want to interview the man in relation to a break, enter and steal offence at a day spa business in Coffs Harbour in August, 2007. He was refused bail and ordered to appear before the Lismore Local Court today.
