2012 Jacaranda Queen Sara Filewood is getting ready to hand over her crown.

Incredible year the Jacaranda Queen will never forget

IF SARA Filewood could give the new Jacaranda Queen one piece of advice it would be to get used to showing off those pearly whites.

"Practise smiling. There is a lot of it," she said.

Having held the prestigious honour since she was crowned 2012 Jaca Queen, Ms Filewood said she would cherish her experience forever.

"It was extremely busy, but at the same time an incredible experience.

"I've made so many new friends and met so many people.

"It has been something I will remember for the rest of my life."

Ms Filewood said while she was sad to let go of her crown, she knew the girl to step into her shoes would do a great job.

"They're all worthy ambassadors for Grafton," she said.

Ms Filewood could not pinpoint just one highlight of the past 12 months.

"It's really hard to sum up, but I think all of the fundraising events were definitely a highlight," she said.

"I got to get out there and meet the community.

"The crowning was amazing and the whole week following Jaca, going around to visit different people and see different places that I didn't even know existed."

Ms Filewood said she would advise the new Jacaranda Queen to sit back and enjoy the ride.

"It goes so fast. Just take it all in and enjoy it."
