Woman hit by car at South Grafton

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with a suspected head injury after being hit by a vehicle in South Grafton.

Police said the woman, believed to be in her fifties, attempted to cross the corner of Bent St and Ryan St about 7am yesterday when she was hit by a passing vehicle, causing her to spin and hit the curb.

Emergency services blocked off one lane of the road while she was tended to by paramedics, who said she was conscious and alert following the incident.

The woman was driven to Coffs Harbour Hospital by ambulance with a suspected head injury and minor bruising and pain.

Police said the injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, and added they were investigating the circumstances of the incident.
