Innovation will be vital says Hartsuyker as new VET minister

THE new Minister for Vocational Training and Skills in the Turnbull Government, Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker says his office will be vital in ensuring Australian living standards continue to grow.

"My role as the Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, is a central role as we continue to improve the degree of innovation," he said.

"Vocational training is a very important area, a key plank as we grow our standard of living going forward.

"The world of work is changing. People are required to have high levels of skill and reskill many times over their lifetimes, which hasn't been the case in the past decades."

He also reflected on the events in Canberra over the past two weeks. "Mr Turnbull will make a very strong prime minister. He's certainly connecting with Australians and his discussion of taking the country forward through innovation is important."
