Insights from top trainers at greyhounds seminar

GREYHOUNDS: Participants in Grafton and the Northern Rivers can pick the brains of two of Australia's leading trainers at an informative event.

This Sunday's Training For The Future seminar at Ladbrokes Park Lismore Greyhound Racing Club will feature a presentation by champion trainers Tony Brett and Kel Greenough on training and rearing techniques.

Brett, who will be joined by his wife and training assistant Fleur, has been of the one of the country's most respected trainers for several years.

Attendees will be able to ask the Bretts questions on their training and rearing practices and greyhound welfare.

Victorian Greenough, who is also widely considered one of the country's most knowledgeable trainers, will likely be joined by his wife Jackie at the seminar and will also assist the presentation.

The free event will also feature a presentation from GRNSW vet Dr Ben Holding focusing on greyhound nutrition.

Cecilia Huynh, Manager Education and Industry Development with GRNSW, said Northern Rivers participants would find the event hugely beneficial.

Part of a series of similar seminars taking place across NSW, the seminar is part of GRNSW's ongoing pro-active and positive measures to help reform the racing industry.

"These seminars underline GRNSW's continuing commitment to a positive and sustainable future for the industry," she said.

"Tony and Fleur have a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding best practice of training and rearing techniques, while Ben will provide valuable information on greyhound nutrition.

"We are sure participants will find the session informative and we would welcome anyone interested to attend."
