Its all sinking in for Harwood

HARWOOD’S all-conquering CRCA Premier League cricket side was still slowly sipping soft drinks yesterday, basking in their grand final triumph at the weekend.

As he does on the field, Tim McMahon led his men as they embarked on the Harwood Hilton, with the enormity of their 130-run win against Westlawn at McKittrick Park, South Grafton, sinking in.

While Matt Young struggled to keep his eyes open and some of the younger troops looked worse for wear after a long night, seasoned veterans like McMahon took it all in his stride. The squad was even greeted with a guest appearance by Westlawn fast bowler Matt Lobsey. Or at least his look-a-like, Harwood opening bat Geoff Simmons.

While plans for the next few days were yet to be made, the players could confirm that they may need to sleep at some point.
