Job seekers urged to stay positive

JOB seekers on the North Cast are being urged to stay positive and keep searching for work, despite unemployment continuing to rise across the country.

ETC Employment Solutions general manager Michael Close said he was positive that new government funding for infrastructure and highway upgrades would generate jobs in the region.

“With employment brought to the North Coast through government projects, extra business will be generated locally,” Mr Close said.

ETC has also been awarded the Federal Government contract to deliver a business program known as the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS), across the east coast of NSW.

The program aims to help eligible people to become self supporting and independent of Centrelink by establishing and running their own business.

“NEIS is one of Australia's longest running and most successful employment programs and we are thrilled to be given the opportunity to deliver this program to our area,” Mr Close said.

ETC also aids in identifying skill shortages and the training and recruiting necessary and suitable staff.
