Joel Parkinson serves it up to a boogie board rider

VIDEO footage of one of Australia's elite surfers, Joel Parkinson, serving it up to a boogie boarder for dropping in on his wave in, has hit the internet.

The Tweed Heads resident can be seen to strike a boogie boarder in the face while he was trying to cross a wave in front of him at an event in Peniche, Portugal.

After an initial strike to the face Parkinson pursued the boogie boarder  to grab him by his rash shirt and struck him in the face again.

The pro surfer with an ASP World Title from 2012 was unremorseful for his aggressive actions against the boogie boarder, who did not retaliate.

"There are always one or two body boarders trying to stand their authority," Parkinson said in an interview after the event.

"It's always heated when there's not a lot of waves and one comes along and it's your turn and someone drops in… that's how it happens."
