Julian Wilson faces surf nemesis
COOLUM sensation Julian Wilson must conquer a man who has become his Achilles heel if he is to advance past round three at the J-Bay Open in South Africa.
Wilson has booked a round three meeting with Kolohe Andino, the man who has knocked him out of the past two tournaments and beat him in round one late last week.
Wilson, 25, told the Daily during a recent return to the Coast that advancing from the third round was the main priority heading into the second half of the season.
Wilson has escaped the third round just once in five attempts this year - his third-place finish at Bells Beach.
The World Championship Tour's 14th-ranked surfer has conceded that his title hopes will have to wait a year, but he is committed to finishing the year in the top five.
Beating Andino and advancing to round four would be a perfect start.
