Junior Jacaranda candidates wanted

NOMINATIONS for the Junior Jacaranda Queen Quest have only been open for a week, but have already gained plenty of interest.

Four girls have put their hands up to be candidates and committee director Karen Hackett said she would love to see more.

But with only a few candidate vacancies left, it might pay off to get in quick.

"Candidates have a wonderful time in the lead up to Jacaranda with fun fundraising activities organized for them by the junior committee," Ms Hackett said.

"And then of course it's Jacaranda Week before we all know it, the fun of the Jacaranda Ball, March of Youth, queen crowning and probably every candidate's favourite event: the float procession.

"Candidates get to experience the Jacaranda Festival like never before, all the while meeting new people and making new friends and memories that last a life time."

The Junior Jacaranda Queen Quest is open to girls aged 12 - 14.

If you're interested in entering this year's quest, see the Grafton Jacaranda Festival Facebook page, contact the festival office for a nomination form on 6642 3959, or phone Ms Hackett on 0408 745 259.
