Karmichael Hunt charged with supplying cocaine

UPDATE: 

TWO elite Queensland footballers are accused of being part of a cocaine syndicate.

The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission charged Queensland Reds fullback Karmichael Hunt, 28, and Gold Coast Titans hooker Beau Falloon, 27, with supplying cocaine.

They were charged along with a 24-year-old Burleigh Waters man, who is facing seven possession charges and two supply charges, and a 22-year-old Mermaid Waters woman, facing two supply charges.

They are expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 5.

The Queensland Reds and Australian Rugby Union issued a joint statement on Friday and was making inquiries into the reports.

"We'll be in a position to comment in more detail once those inquiries have progressed," the statement read.

Similarly the Titans said they were also investigating the statements.

"The club is aware of current media speculation in relation to police charges on the Gold Coast yesterday," the club said in a statement.

"We are currently trying to confirm the veracity of these reports and a public statement will be made immediately we have been able to do so."

The offences are alleged to have occurred when Mr Hunt played for the Gold Coast Suns. The AFL team said it was aware of the accusations and would not comment while the matter was before the courts. - APN NEWSDESK

THREE code footballer Karmicahel Hunt has been charged with supplying cocaine as part of a Gold Coast drug syndicate.

The Crime and Corruption Commission charged Mr Hunt - one of the country's most successful sportsmen having played elite level rugby league, Australian rules and rugby union - with four counts of supplying cocaine it announced on Friday morning.

Three other people were also charged - a 24-year-old Burleigh Waters man, a 27-year-old Mermaid Waters man, and a 22-year-old Mermaid Waters woman - with involvement in the operation.

The four will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 5.
