WITHIN only two weeks of finishing her regional tour of CQ with Wendy Matthews, Kate Leahy's already organising another.

Pulse spoke to the Capricorn Coast's sweet-sounding vocalist about her busy schedule and her many exciting plans.

Kate said it was those behind the scenes who made the tour a success.

"It's a huge achievement and big relief that it went well.

"But I have a fantastic team of people who helped me with it before the tour and a great crew on tour as well."

Taking seven months to plan the Wendy Matthews tour, Kate said she hoped the next one would be even more interactive with the local communities in which they perform.

"When we played in Capella, we actually performed with the Emerald State High School orchestra which had 40 students in it," she said.

"And it was beautiful. I had people coming up to me after the show who weren't family of the students say that was one of their highlights from the night, so the feedback was phenomenal."

Kate said the next step was to get another high profile artist on board.

"I have a wish list, at the top of that is Paul Kelly," she said.

"I'm not sure if that would be possible but I if I don't ask, it will be a definite no anyway."

Kate was also pleased to announce recently that two of her songs had been played on the popular Channel 7 TV show, Winners and Losers.
