Ketut teams up with Viv Richards for commercial

MOVE over Rhonda, Ketut's got a new person in his life.

Sir Viv Richards, in the country as one of Channel 10's new Big Bash League commentators, will star opposite AAMI's popular character in two new ads.

The new ads will debut on Saturday during the all-Sydney Sixers versus Thunder match, and is the product of Ten's new premium creative solutions division.

The debut of the new ads on TEN coincides with Sir Viv Richards' first performance as part of the Big Bash League commentary team.

The holiday flirtation of "safe driver" Rhonda and Balinese hunk Ketut, which has featured in a series of AAMI ads, rose to cult status thanks to the performances by actors Mandy McElhinney and Kadek Mahardika.

Now Ten is hoping that magic and viewer affection translates to the Big Bash League.

"A legendary campaign deserves a legend and Sir Vivian Richards was the natural fit," said Ten's generate national creative director Michael Stanford.

"Working closely with AAMI and its agencies Ogilvy Melbourne and Starcom, we have created two commercials that bring the sponsorship to life in a memorable way. It's a tribute to a great campaign and the value and power of tailored creative."

One of the ads, titled I Don't Like Cricket, features Ketut telling Sir Viv that he doesn't just like cricket, he "loves" it.
