Kim Sheehy gives 'performance of the night' on The Voice

HIGH school music teacher Kim Sheehy schooled all her competitors on The Voice tonight.

The former Maclean High School student, who plans to move to Sydney to pursue music after the show, blew the coaches away with her take on Gotye's ballad Hearts A Mess.

The 28-year-old had to remain perfectly still for the beginning of her performance as images were projected on to her face.

Joel Madden declared it the performance of the night.

Ms Sheehy told APN she was excited about performing the song in her first live show.

"It's a song I feel like I can connect to," she said.

"It's not a song I would have typically chosen but I've fallen in love with it."

But her coach Delta Goodrem decided to save Alfie Alcuri and allow the public to get behind Ms Sheehy.

"I believe Kim had the performance of the night tonight as well across the board," she said.

"I want to see who, out of the girls, viewers connect with."

The public vote will decide which singer from each team is eliminated on Sunday night.
