Kingscliff con artists exposed on national television

THE mother and daughter who ran the Kingscliff-based Fenwick Actors and Models were exposed as con artists on Channel Seven last night.

Today Tonight reported Cassandra Thomas and her daughter Courtney Thomas had ripped off  families to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars by promising to be able to make their children stars.

The pair ran the Kingscliff agency in 2012 and in June this year were found guilty of fraud by the Fair Trading relating to their activities at this time.

They also claimed to have connections within the entertainment industry which they did not, such as a relationship with Home and Away, it was reported.

They were ordered to pay $27,000 in fines and repay $19,125 to victims.

The duo were to host a baby show in Ballina this weekend, but it is understood the show has now been cancelled.
