Labor of love

HE MAY now just be a humble backbencher, but Kevin Rudd's visit to Grafton yesterday caused quite a stir in Shoppingworld.

The former prime minister was on a trip to Page to support Janelle Saffin's election campaign.

Having just finished a visit of Grafton Base Hospital to see its makeover, Mr Rudd shirked off questions about him potentially running again as leader of the Labor Party.

"I'm very happy where I am," he said

"My reason for being here is to make sure this one (Janelle) gets re-elected."

Mr Rudd said he had a clear message for the Page electorate regarding its current Federal member: "Janelle Saffin gets things done and you would be mad to lose her."
