Laughs assured

MENTION Denise and Ernie and generations of Australians need no further explanation.

This cheeky duo are Australian entertainment royalty.

Their collective careers amount to 115 years, or 58 and 57 respectively.

There is something about their true blue, fair dinkum sense of humour that has both them and audiences in tears of laughter.

Denise Drysdale and Ernie Sigley first teamed up in 1974 when Denise became the barrel girl on the Nine Network's The Ernie Sigley Show.

Ernie dubbed Denise "Ding Dong" and viewers couldn't get enough of their naughty brother-and-sister style of chemistry.

In fact, the "wheel" spot fast became one of the most popular segments of the show; anything and anyone were fair game.

They released a single, Hey Paula, which shot to number one in the charts.

Gold Logies followed for both as Most Popular personalities on Australian Television in 1975, presented by Hollywood legend John Wayne.

In 1976 Drysdale was again given Gold and two Silver Logies during the same period.

In 1989, Denise teamed up with Ernie Sigley again to host In Melbourne Today, and in 1991 began a Sydney version of the show, In Sydney Today.

The two programs later merged to a single program, Ernie and Denise, and the rest is history!

During 2011 Denise returned to daytime television where she was a regular on Network Ten's The Circle.

Ernie William Sigley and Denise Ann Drysdale are a priceless combination who never fail to find fun in anything they do together.

The cheeky dynamic duo returns with a hilarious show packed with comedy, songs and all-round entertainment.
