Lawrence girl chosen in NSW PSSA Hockey side

LAWRENCE Public School student Ashleigh Ensbey has been selected in the NSW PSSA Girls Hockey team after a successful campaign at the state championships held in Murwillumbah from May 26 to 28 this week.

Ensbey and fellow North Coast representative Jasmin Morrisset from Tweed Heads South were both named in the squad of 14. Nella Bradford from St Joseph's Woodburn, who represented Polding, was also named.

North Coast opened its campaign on day one with a 2-1 win against Sydney South West, followed by 2-0 over South Coast and a 4-2 loss to Western.

On day two they defeated Sydney East 6-0 and North West 3-0 but lost to Polding 4-0.

On the final day North West defeated Mackillop in the semi-final before going down to Polding 3-0 in the final.
