Letter to the Editor - Monday, April 7: Fun about footy

I READ with interest about the criticism of North Coast Football getting the draw out late and deservedly so.

It also could have been mentioned about North Coast Football cutting the rounds down from 18 down to 15 at the last minute, thereby depriving the true minor premiers, majors u/12s and City 13s their rightful spot as minor premiers for the year 2013 and the chance to play the Coffs Harbour sides in the regional final.

Noted that it was a decision agreed upon at the start of the year by the clubs, but what a silly decision to enforce and done at the very last minute. The clubs had played the last three rounds thinking full well the points would go to their positions on the ladder. There simply should have been made-up games for the wash outs. I know, crying over spilt milk.

Also I would be curious to know the percentage of rep players we (the Clarence) had in rep teams in 2013 compared to Coffs sides. Clarence clubs should be asking for those types of stats to enforce NCF to explain the large disparities, if any, noting that new rep structure seems to be in place. There needs to be some type of regular audit done on their activities, they seem to be based in Coffs solely for the benefit of the Coffs area.
