Letter to the Editor - Monday, December 22: Some hide

THE Daily Examiner reported on 2 December 2014 that Steve Cansdell had "been lobbied to stand" at the Clarence Valley Council by-election in March 2015.

This is the same man about whom the newspaper reported on 16 September 2011: "New South Wales Nationals MP Steve Cansdell has resigned from State Parliament after revelations he faked a statutory declaration about a speeding fine. The MP for the northern electorate of Clarence has admitting falsified a statutory declaration in relation to a speeding fine in 2005."

The very same Steve Cansdell whom the newspaper further reported on 22 November 2011 as stating "he would probably never have confessed to his crime if a whistleblower had not drawn attention to it".

I don't know who would be the judged the more politically foolish; Mr Cansdell for considering standing, the person or person who allegedly lobbied him or any valley resident/ratepayer who might actually be thinking of voting for him.
