Letter to the Editor - Monday, May 19:Library doesn’t get it

ONE morning mid-April, I took my two little boys to visit the new library.

We had purchased a gardening book (RRP well over $150) for my sons to donate.

We approached the welcome desk and offered the book to the library staff as a donation.

In return we were asked, "so you wouldn't mind if we sold it and bought books we want"?

A little disappointing to say the very least.

To think we can go to Bunnings and be offered a "good morning", and the boys each offered a stamp prior to a purchase even being made!

So much to showing the young ones appreciation and letting them experience the feeling of contributing to our community.
