Letter to the Editor-November 12: Where were poppies on sale?

YESTERDAY, Monday, November 11, was Remembrance Day. It is 95 years since the guns went silent in Europe to mark the signing of the Armistice.

I tried to buy a poppy in Shoppingworld and in the main street of Grafton and none was being sold. There was none to be seen anywhere.

At the 11am service there were poppies available but why was none being sold anywhere where people could buy them? If the RSL or Legacy want a volunteer for next year then just ask.

Kevin Dixon,
Grafton
