Letter to the Editor - October 23: Making Clarence best

TO BE honest, I don't have a problem with $80,000 being spent on travel and conferences by councillors, all nine of them are trying to make the Clarence the best it can be, we should expect them to be well trained, informed and up to speed with current issues.

I think CVC collects about $27 million in rates and pays councillors about $17,000 a year for the pleasure of long hours, hard work and not much or no thanks (although one now only attends council meetings and nothing else (and still gets his $17,000). I have no issue with the expense.
