Letter to the Editor-Thursday, October 17: Swim in effluent?

THE recent spate of electricity outages on the Iluka side of the river leaves me bewildered.

They dug another line across under the river to prevent these problems, charge like a wounded bull for the service, and we have more outages than a third world country.

Main issue to confront will be our new sewerage systems that depend on electricity to function ....will we be swimming in our own effluent when our backyard pumps cannot function? Or will porta loos become in vogue...after the recent issues I think I may buy shares in the before mentioned product.
