Letter to the Editor - Tuesday, May 13: Fisheries reforms

IN response to strong representations on the Commercial Fisheries Reform Program from a number of members of parliament, including Member for Clarence Chris Gulaptis, I have extended the consultation period on a series of options papers until Friday, May 30.

It is important that fishers use this period to advise how they believe the options could be best modified or improved.

I encourage commercial fishers, recreational anglers, and other interested members of the community, to carefully examine the options papers, which are available at www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/commercial/reform, and make a submission.

Katrina Hodgkinson,
Minister for Primary Industries
