Letter to the Editor - Tuesday, October 15: Learn to back

I HAVE driven motor vehicles for over 35 years and have no problems with reverse parking.

In my opinion drivers who cannot perform this manoeuvre should not be in possession of a driver's licence as it is one of the requirements of obtaining said licence.

Maybe those who can't do this should get some driving lessons (there are many good schools in the Valley) or go around the corner to the shopping centres or public car parks and walk back because this form of parking is also part of operating a motor vehicle.

Last but not least, who is going to pay for all the alterations to the kerb blisters and line marking (sorry, forget the marking nobody can use it now)? Yes, the ratepayer.
