Letter to the Editor-Wednesday, November 27: Council correct

I READ with interest the letter from Mr Day regarding the CRTA and note that he didn't say that the council has made the wrong decision on this matter.

My view is that the council has made the correct decision, the old dinosaur has done its job, it is time to move to a model that is driven by demand and supported by the industry. Operating a VIC for only 4% of visitors going through the doors of each is costly and of little value in its current form.

What has the CRTA done to get with the times? No Clarence Valley Tourism app, an outdated web page (not mobile or tablet friendly), which is not all that well connected, tourism is now online; not one digital kiosk anywhere in the Clarence Valley. Surely Yamba should have a few?

Nope, not one.

Thanks for the memories CRTA, now let's move into 2014.
