LETTER: Excellent coverage of International Women’s Day

THE combined VIEW Clubs of the Clarence Valley: Yamba Day; Yamba Evening; Maclean and Grafton, wish to convey their thanks for your paper's excellent publicity and coverage of our 2016 International Women's Day held at the Yamba Bowling Club on Friday, March 11.

Reporter Jarrard Potter and photographer Adam Hourigan captured the essence of the day with a wonderful article and photographs of 273 women enjoying themselves whilst fundraising for The Smith Family's Learning for Life program.

The day was enormously successful and thanks to the generosity of the women present, be they guest speakers; entertainers; market stall holders; members and non-members; raised an incredible $5656 which will be donated to benefit disadvantaged children to ensure they have an equal opportunity for education.

Planning is already under way for 2017's function which we will ensure meets or even exceeds the high standards we have maintained every year.
