Letter to the Editor - December 12: Let ‘My people’ build

ON A recent trip to and back from Sydney I was amazed how much unutilised land we have in such a small portion of our state.

Of course we must safeguard our trees and national parks, but it appears that the majority of land in Australia is just sitting there doing nothing. This would be all very well if there was ample land able to be built on to house our growing population.

I really think that every Aussie should have the option of building their home on their own plot of land rather than live in ugly multi-rise eyesores that seem to be arising in so many areas.

For reasons unknown to most of us, one can own 100 acres of land and still only be allowed to build one dwelling on it. This is ludicrous in my opinion.

How about allowing those wishing to own their own little bit of heaven to build on some of this unused land.

Come on people, shout it to the rooftops, LET MY PEOPLE BUILD!
