Lisa breaks up Bachelor catfight

FASHION designer Lisa Hyde has emerged as the peacemaker on The Bachelor.

The 27-year-old, who grew up at Coolum, appeared on last night's rodeo-themed group date but stayed out of the drama which included one woman breaking down in tears and several arguments between so-called "villain" Laurina and some of the other bachelorettes.

Laurina, who has been playing her cards close to her chest, was accused of cheating to win the mechanical bull-riding competition on the group date and then tensions boiled over at a cocktail party.

Lisa, who has been keeping a low profile, stepped in to be the voice of reason among the heightened emotions.

"I feel bad for Laurina. You know, even though she does do silly things we're all girls and we can't leave one person out," she said.

"You never ever let a girl stand alone.

"I really wanted to comfort her. I think she just needs a friend."

Despite not getting much screen time or spending any one-on-one time with Bachelor Blake Garvey, Lisa survived elimination during last night's rose ceremony.

Tonight she will finally have some alone time with Garvey in a one-on-one date which will include an acrobatic plane flight and some fireside romance.
