Local clubs eye rugby season ahead

GRAFTON rugby fans will have to wait until the April 24 clash with Ballina before seeing the Redmen in Far North Coast First Grade action at home.

With a round 1 trip to Lismore in the top three grades plus the under-19s, Grafton must wait until round 2 before showing their skills on familiar turf.

A week later the Redmen enjoy a bye in all grades except the under-19s.

Meanwhile Yamba face a mouth-watering clash with Casino on April 17 in the opening 19s round.

Yamba take on Kyogle in the Village competition while Iluka travels to Bangalow.

The first big derby clash of the season happens in round 3 when Grafton meets the Buccaneers in the under-19s.

Neighbours Yamba and Iluka meet in what promises to be a heated Village league clash in round 7 on June 19.

The campaign runs for 14 weeks with the finals series to start on August 21.

Lismore’s Crozier Field will hosts all the grades’ grand finals on September 11.
