Locals impress at country champs

THE McDonalds Far North Coast Junior Rugby Union (FNCJRU) under-16s won the NSW Country Championships held in Armidale in April.

The under-17s came fifth with Central North who beat FNCJRU 6-5 in their pool match before going on to play in the final against Illawarra.

Four players from the FNCJRU were selected in the NSW Country under-17 team: Daniel Damen, Ethan Butler (Wollongbar) Ben Jamieson (Yamba), and Jacob Carter (SCU)

Nine FNC players, including Grafton’s Jayden Darke, were chosen to attend the NSW Country training camp at Myuna Bay in May.
