Look, it's a surfing dog

YOU'D expect to see a red cattle dog in the stock yards or the paddock, but that's not the life for Cabarita's cutback canine.

Cedar the surfing cattle dog prefers the surf to the turf.

Every day she hits the waves on her 6ft 8in surfboard and gives a whole new meaning to "chasing a stick";.

The six-year-old has been surfing for four years.

Most dogs would grab the lead when they want their owner to take them for a walk. Not Cedar.

She grabs the leg rope of her favourite "stick"; and heads for the beach, with her owner Linda Sinclair hot on her heels to give her a push out through the breakers.

"She loves the surf,"; Ms Sinclair said.

"And she prefers a big board.

"But she really hates a wipeout.";

The whole family surfs, so it's only natural that the dog would get in on the act.

"Our last dog was also a surfer,"; Ms Sinclair said.

"He made television fame ... a few years back.

"Cedar is following in Lincoln's pawsteps. She's a natural.

"Nothing fazes her, except when someone tries to take her stick.";
